We have such a service as the Rosselkhoznadzor, which is a Federal Executive authority and which performs the function of control and supervision in the field of veterinary medicine, circulation of medicines for veterinary use, quarantine and plant protection, safe handling of pesticides and agrochemicals, ensuring soil fertility, ensuring the quality and safety of grain, cereals, feed and components for their production, by-products of grain processing, land relations (in terms of agricultural land), functions to protect the population from diseases common to humans and animals. The service carries out state supervision in the field of seed production in relation to seeds of agricultural plants. (information from the official website of the Rosselkhoznadzor).
If we talk about international trade, this service controls imported goods for compliance with phytosanitary and veterinary standards.
And here again the gallant defenders of our homeland, found repeated violations of veterinary-sanitary requirements of the Eurasian economic Union and the Russian Federation from October 16, 2020, prohibits the import into Russia of products produced by JSC "Bellakt" (Volkovysk, Grodno region). According to the Agency, E. coli was found in the products of this manufacturer.
In addition to the manufacturer Bellakt, the Rosselkhoznadzor introduced a regime of enhanced laboratory control for the products of the following Belarusian enterprises:
1. Alexandrov LLC - detection of Listeria monocytogenes bacteria in beef (two cases);
2. Bykhov separate structural subdivision of Mogilev DISTRICT – detection of excess amount of mesophilic aerobic and facultative anaerobic microorganisms (Kmafanm) in beef;
3. JLLC "Danone Shklov" - detection of coliforms in pasteurized milk;
4. Kopylsky branch of JSC "Slutsk cheese factory" - detection of nitrates in cheese that are not declared by the manufacturer on the label;
5. JSC "Mogilev meat processing plant" - detection of excess Kmafanm in beef.
What should I do about this situation? On the one hand, it is scary, because most people drink milk and consume meat, and, of course, when we go to the store, we want to be sure that the products meet the composition stated on the label and have passed the appropriate tests and, at least, are safe for consumption.
In fact, even at the stage of importation into the country, it turns out that the quality of raw materials is questionable.
And here again an ambiguous moment. If you look at the history of bans on the import of Belarusian products to Russia, we see that the Rosselkhoznadzor regularly (at least once a month) imposes a ban or strengthens control over certain Belarusian enterprises. Let's think about it: if a factory must meet certain standards and requirements to export its products, then once it is banned, the plant's management must draw certain conclusions and correct mistakes in order to start exporting its products to Russia again.
In fact, we see the constant restrictions imposed by Rosselkhoznadzor on the Belarusian suppliers. And we can't help but wonder if everything is really so bad and the product does not meet the standards, or if this is just a political game.
in any case, we want to believe that attempts to import low-quality goods were stopped. However, we recommend that if possible, all products should be subjected to heat treatment and take care of themselves!
